Creative Projects

My art and creative scholarship is informed by a philopraxis that locates, excavates, interrogates, re-remembers, and reinscribes the lost-found sacred epistemologies of Africana peoples. This exertion involves deep, qualitative exploration, interpretation, and re-cognition of memory and meaning that crystalizes at the nexus of art, imagination, aesthetics, education, and activism.

The Blues & Black America

The Blues and Black America explores the anteriors and interiors of Black life in America within the context of liberation, tragedy, triumph, and the critical hope of renewal.

Through blended genres of spoken word poetry, prose narration, and live music, this three-sequence presentation chronicles the freedom dreams and futurities of the diverse peoples of African ancestry who would eventually become African Americans.
